| So its been a while, but I'm finally gonna comment on this silly thing again! I'm in Pine Bluff right now. Just got done going to my grandfather's funeral. It wasn't as hard as I thought it'd be. It has been such a nice day today, and I just got through eating a heck of a lunch! I'm getting ready to head back to Conway here in a bit, and am looking forward to Choir. So what have I learned in the last few weeks? Well, I don't think I have time to write it all down now, but maybe later. Sorry to leave you hanging xanga readers. I guess the main thing I've learned is that it feels wonderful when you're serving others. I'd forgotten how much fun it was to help people out. May be in small ways, but its still so enriching. I hope that whatever God calls me to do(please be voice work please be voice work), I hope I get to encourage others who are hurting. It is very hard to remind one's self to be selfless, and hard at times to put it in to practice, but the results are amazing. So I'm really tired right now because I only got like 2 hours sleep last night or should I say this morning? Got to bed at 5 because I just couldn't sleep and woke at 7. So my head is kinda pounding a bit, but I ain't sleepin until midnight tonight! | | |
| So I'm just sittin here waiting for my hamburger helper to cool, and glad its the weekend! I gotta start studying next week though. Lots to do and all that jazz. I can't wait until Sunday night! A bunch of us from Choir are gonna go watch a Sticks ministry at our Choir director's church, so it'll be good to get outa Conway for a bit. As for the rest of this weekend, I haven't planned that far ahead yet. haha! | | |
| So today's been ok. My alergies have been a thorn in my side most of the day, but at least they weren't as bad as they could have been. I hate complaining when I'm sick because its no fun griping. haha! I just wait till I get back to my room around 12 or so and crash really hard. Also, I've been doing alot of thinking regarding being a better person lately. Yeah, I've prayed for that too. I look at alot of the folks I go to college with and can't get over that... What's the word I'm lookin for? Spiritual radiance? Yeah, that's it. You remember that chapter in the book of Exodus where Moses comes down from the mountain and everyone else is like,"Hey, you got this glow about you. We know who you've been talking too." Well, those weren't the exact words, but its close enough. I mean, don't those types of people make you want to strive for excelence? Who needs superheroes when you have folks like these to look up to. Yeah, I pretty much look up to everyone at my college because most of them have been Christians longer than I have. Only about six or seven years for me. But its really something when you're around folks who were brought up in it though. I also know folks who've become Christians like a year to half a year ago, and I respect them as much as everyone else. It is a very humbling experience, being among so many wonderful classmates and Profs. There is so much to learn from these people. So I should post this before the stupid two hour time limit runs out! | | |
| Well guys, it finally happened. I'm sure everyone's heard about it, but I still can't believe it. When I heard, I kinda had mixed feelings. But I'm gonna miss Steve Irwin! Yes, he was an idiot, but a pretty funny idiot. And I hope he was saved before he died. Me and some guys were talkin about him at lunch, how he was probably up in Heaven with a video camera following Michael the archangel around, and not really sure what to make of the four living creatures surrounding the throne. Well, atleast that's where I hope he is. Nah, I never really watched his stuff, but thanks to him, I got his accent down a while back. So this weekend was pretty fun. We went to Little Rock yesterday and caught like half of the movie Cars because the people took forever making the popcorn. But I liked what I saw... Yeah, you know what I mean. Twas nice to get away from campus for a bit. I just wish the weekend would have lasted a few more days! But there's Choir and Band to look forward to this week, and its a four day week too. Uh... Let's see, what else? Well, I think I've run out of stuff to rant about. For now, anyway. I could tell ya about how excited I am because I'm finally gettin dubs of my voice impersonation tape made thanks to the amazing Mark Binns! I still need to go out there and buy more blank tapes. Then, try to transfer all of it to cd because voice impersonation folk don't take tapes anymore. Heck, I don't even think many people own cassette players either. Yikes! Ok, stick a fork in this post cause its done. | | |
| Well, tomorrow is the middle of the week. You know, I'm so glad to be back at school. I've missed it more than I realized. I've met some really awesome people, and I've gotten to know others even better as well. I've really enjoyed the church services and bible studies I've atended so far. This summer's been... difficult to say the least. Far too many of life's little unforseen events and all that. So college is a wonderful change of scenery for this kid.
I'm also finally ready to start making dubs of my voice impersonation tape, although I don't have a double tape deck. I just hope it'll be well-received. I'm not sending it off until I get a cd made. These are just for friends and family. The first of many ways in which I hope to show my thanks to those who've told me to pursue my dreams. I just hope this is what I'm supposed to be doing. | | |
